Rules for Homemade Ice Cream Contest
MooFest 2010

Enter your best homemade ice cream to be judged and then shared with the public.

We will accept the first 30 entries postmarked by May 28, 2010. Mail to:

Entry forms are available online at www.nationalmoofest.com, published in the local Daily-Post Athenian and available at the Mayfield’s Visitor Center. The contest is open to the public. A copy of the recipe must be included with the entry form. One entry per person.

C.   Specialty – may include other ingredients

D.   Fruit

 

Prizes:

Overall Grand Prize: $1000

Category Winner: $125

Runner up in each category:  $75 

RULES

     1. One entry per person.

2.     NO ENTRIES WITH RAW EGGS.

  1. Only “real dairy products” such as milk, cream butter, butter, non-fat dry milk, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, buttermilk, etc. may be utilized to meet the dairy ingredient qualifications. Non-dairy and imitation dairy products such as imitation spreads and refrigerated whipped toppings are not allowed and will disqualify the entry. Any recipe containing eggs MUST be thoroughly cooked to avoid threat of salmonella.
  2. All entries must be homemade.
  3. A winner and runner up will be chosen in each category. One Grand Prize winner will be chosen from the category winners.
  4. All entries must be delivered to Ingleside School between 1:00 – 1:30, June 5, 2010 to be entered into the competition. Signs will direct you. The ice cream will be stored in a freezer until judged.
  5. Judging begins promptly at 1:30.
  6. All dashers, cranks, and motors must have been removed and the ice cream kept in its original freezer container. The freezer must be at least a four-quart freezer, 2/3 full.
  7. Each contestant must provide a regular size poster board with the contestant’s name and name of ice cream to be displayed in front the contestant’s ice cream station in the tent. It may be decorated.
  8.  Each contestant will serve a small taste of their ice cream to the public for a free tasting. MooFest will provide spoons and containers.
  9. Winners will be announced at 4:00, Saturday, June 5 at the MooFest Activities Tent.
