  • National MooFest is especially looking for buttermilk recipes! Mayfield Dairy Farms is the nation’s leading buttermilk producer, and we know there are great recipes out there to unveil in our National MooFest Cook Book and on the Mayfield Dairy Farms website (if they contain a Mayfield product)!

Mayfield Dairy is a regional company.  If Mayfield is not offered in your area, submit your recipe with your local brand.  For MooFest purposes, the festival will substitute Mayfield products where possible (milk, buttermilk, sour cream, cottage cheese, etc.)

  • Recipes do not have to contain buttermilk (although it is encouraged), but they do have to contain a dairy product. Recipes must be in standardized measurement with no abbreviations. Please be sure the directions are clear and concise.

  • National MooFest Committee Members and their immediate family members are not eligible.

Recipes may be submitted one of three ways. They are preferred in the order listed below. Recipes must be typed. Include the contest (general or teen), category, contestant’s name, address, phone number/s, and e-mail address.

All entries must be received by 4 p.m. May 16.

1. Email to Caycie Barham

2. Mail to:
     Mayfield Dairy Farms
     MooFest Recipe Contest
     PO Box 310
     Athens, TN 37371

3. Drop off at the Mayfield Dairy (Athens, Tennessee) main office Monday through Friday 8:30 – 4:30 to the attention of Cayci Barham.

  • Notification of entries wanted for sampling will be sent the following week, and judging will take place on Saturday, May 24th in Athens, Tennessee.

  • Winners will be announced at National MooFest! There will be first place winners in each category and an overall winner. This is the same for both the general and teen contests.
